In 2013, M-Files introduced its first mobile application. Now, four years later, it is time for a new version. With the arrival of the latest version, numerous new and improved features have been added. Thanks to these additions, the mobile applications offer incomparable productivity improvements.
While M-Files was busy developing the new functionalities, at the same time it went to work on pouring these functionalities into a revamped user experience. This has now been achieved with the new interface.

Information is priority number one
In the latest release of M-Files' mobile applications, the visual display has been radically changed. The main change is the prioritisation of information. For this reason, the opening screen is now enriched with a lot of information. When a user opens the application, he immediately sees the documents he recently worked with. The application also displays the documents assigned to the user, his favourites documents and any documents the user has made available offline. The main screen is now a place where all the important information comes together instead of a collection of shortcuts.
Navigation simplified
Another giant step in user-friendliness was taken with the navigation. Previously using a hamburger menu (menu at the top left), that navigation has now been moved to the bottom of the application. This makes Similarly Search directly available from all views, eliminating the need to go back to the main screen first.
M-Files main screen evolution
The main screen has evolved a lot over the years and will continue to do so. Sometime in the third quarter, M-Files 2017 will be launched and so will yet another new version of the mobile applications. M-Files 2017 introduces the Intelligent Metadata Layer and this will of course be supported by the mobile applications.
The new interface is available for both M-Files Android and M-Files iOS. The M-Files mobile applications are available to all M-Files customers and can be downloaded for Android (Google Play), iOS (Apple iTunes App Store) and for Windows 10 (Windows Store).
